Iris was born into a secluded Xaela tribe, where tales of ancestral spirits and the afterlife were common. As a child, she was drawn to the dark corners of her village and the eerie legends that swirled around them. Rather than embracing the tribe’s emphasis on strength and survival she found solace in the shadows and the beauty of decay.Her tribe's values often overshadowed her peculiar interests. She was fascinated by the darker tales of her tribe’s lore; stories of spirits, the shadows that haunted the lands, and the whispers of the dead. Her tribe, however, preferred the daylight and the chase, leading her to feel like an outsider.After a fateful encounter with a malevolent spirit while exploring a haunted forest near her home, Iris’s life changed forever. This encounter ignited her desire to master her magic and delve into the study of mycology, particularly mushrooms with strange and potentially dangerous properties.After leaving her tribe, Iris elected to change her name. She chose not to have a traditional Au Ra name and went with "Iris Pelenor," as she felt it better suited her as it represents the vibrant beauty of life (the flower) and the inevitable decay that follows (As well as the eerie, haunting landscape of her home).

With the desire to blend her passions for magic and horror she then set out to carve her own path. She now roams the land seeking forbidden knowledge. By entwining her love for horror and the macabre, she is able to see a dark beauty in the elements of fire and ice. Both capable of destruction, yet intricately tied to life and death.She’s warm-hearted, quirky, and whimsical, often seeing the beauty in decay and darkness. She possesses a sharp wit and a love for dark humor. Though she can be shy and reserved, her enthusiasm for horror can spark lively conversations. She may seem distant at first but she is fiercely loyal to those she trusts. She’s empathetic and always seeking to understand the fears and desires of those around her.

Iris studies not just edible mushrooms but also the more sinister varieties—those that are toxic, parasitic, or hallucinogenic. She uses her knowledge to craft potions that can cause nightmares, induce fear, or even summon phantasmal entities. For example, she might brew a potion that allows her to temporarily conjure illusions of horror from her favorite tales, creating a terrifying battlefield for her foes. Or she might create “Nightmare Spores,” a potion that, when inhaled, induces vivid, terrifying hallucinations, making enemies question reality.STAFF. ❤︎
Iris carries a staff embedded with a dark crystal that pulses with energy and adorned with luminescent mushrooms and skulls, each representing a soul she has encountered.

She collects eerie artifacts and keeps them displayed in her home. She also has a small collection of horror-themed trinkets, such as bones, preserved mushrooms, and cursed artifacts.DARK LIBRARY. ❤︎
Her home is filled with tomes about dark magic, horror legends, and the occult, along with her own notes and illustrations of the fungi she studies. She also loves to collect horror novels and always keeps an eye out for more.FAMILIAR. ❤︎
She is accompanied by a spectral Raven which serves as her companion. Her Raven scouts for danger and whispers secrets from the dark.
